A passenger aboard the Wonder of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean, went overboard on Tuesday.

The incident occurred off the coast of Cuba during a seven-day cruise that departed from Port Canaveral, Florida. The cruise company's spokesperson confirmed the incident and stated that the ship's crew immediately initiated a search and rescue operation in collaboration with local authorities. In respect for the family involved, further details about the unfortunate event were not disclosed.

Video footage captured by fellow passengers on TikTok shows a rescue boat near the cruise ship, attempting to locate the individual who went overboard.

An employee's announcement over the cruise's PA system confirmed the incident and the ship's response, stating, "We actually have a report of a man overboard. We have slowed the ship down. We have turned around, and we are heading back to the position that we had at that time. We will start search and rescue operations."

This is not the first time a passenger has gone overboard on a Royal Caribbean cruise. On July 31, a separate incident occurred on a Royal Caribbean cruise en route to Singapore.

The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Singapore was notified at approximately 7:50 a.m. that a passenger aboard the Spectrum of the Seas had gone overboard in the Singapore Strait.

The cruise company's spokesperson assured that the ship's team was working closely with local authorities, and their Care Team was providing assistance and support to the family. Due to privacy concerns, no additional details were shared regarding the incident.
