Then-Vice President Joe Biden allegedly used a pseudonym to discuss a potential White House hire with his son, Hunter Biden, according to emails from 2014 that were found on Hunter's laptop.
The email exchange took place on June 23, 2014, when Hunter emailed someone named "Robin Ware" from his company email at Rosemont Seneca Partners. In the email, Hunter asked for a discussion before filling a position, mentioning that someone named J. McGrail was interested in serving as a detail for the Treasury. Just minutes later, a response from the email account This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. instructed Hunter to call "Dad" right away.
According to House Republicans investigating the Biden family, Robin Ware is one of several pseudonyms that Joe Biden used during his time as vice president to discuss government matters with his son. At the time of the emails, John McGrail was serving as senior counsel at the U.S. Treasury. Two months later, McGrail joined the White House as Biden's deputy counsel. Currently, McGrail is back at the Treasury, serving as counselor to the undersecretary for domestic finance.
Fox News Digital reached out to McGrail, the White House, and Hunter's lawyer for comment, but they did not respond.
These email revelations come after the Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF) filed a lawsuit against the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) demanding all Biden vice presidential records and communications related to three email accounts: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The SLF had previously filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in June 2022 for these records but had not received any documents.
As part of the lawsuit, an email from NARA in June 2022 appeared to confirm the existence of over 5,000 potentially responsive documents to the FOIA request. The email stated that there were approximately 5,138 email messages, 25 electronic files, and 200 pages of potentially relevant records that needed to be processed. However, NARA noted that these totals were estimates and that not all the material processed may be applicable to the specific topic. The Archival Operations Division is currently reviewing FOIA requests in the order they were received.
In addition to the SLF's lawsuit, House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer sent a letter to NARA requesting unredacted email communications between Joe Biden and his son related to Ukraine, Burisma, and all documents related to the pseudonyms.
Comer expressed concerns about the Biden family's alleged influence peddling and stated that evidence showed Joe Biden's close interactions with his son's foreign business associates. He emphasized the need for the National Archives to provide these unredacted records to further investigate the alleged corruption within the Biden family.
The email exchange and the ongoing legal actions surrounding the Biden family's communications have raised questions about the extent of Joe Biden's involvement in his son's business dealings and the potential conflicts of interest that may have arisen during his time as Vice President. As investigations continue, the National Archives will play a crucial role in providing transparency and clarity regarding these matters.
