A newly released NYPD body camera recording captures the harrowing moments before officers fatally shot a knife-wielding woman who had just stabbed two people in New Yorks Times Square.
According to Gateway Pundit, 32-year-old Bank of America executive Erin Piacenti of Chester, New Jersey, was killed in what authorities described as an unprovoked stabbing last month. The attacker, identified as 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros, also knifed a 68-year-old man in the stomach, who survived, before she was shot dead by police.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated that Piacenti was stabbed in the abdomen in an unprovoked attack, and investigators say Cisneros used two kitchen knives during the rampage. A dramatic video posted to social media shows the moment officers confronted the armed suspect in the heart of a tourist district already plagued by rising disorder under soft-on-crime policies.
The bodycam footage, released Friday evening, shows officers repeatedly attempting to defuse the situation and disarm Cisneros without using lethal force. Put the knife down, Officer Ryan Brito told Cisneros, as another officer, Francis Gagliano, added, I dont want to get you.
Cisneros taunted officers, shouting, Come and get me! and then revealed a chilling mindset of despair and violence. Im tired of this world already, Cisneros said. Tired of this sh*t.
Officer Brito responded with empathy, underscoring how far the officers went to avoid pulling the trigger. I get it. The world is hard, especially New York City. I know New York City is hard. Trust me, we all suffer, Officer Brito said. You believe in God?
Her reply made clear she had no intention of surrendering peacefully. Cisneros replied, No, not anymore. Youre going to have to kill me. Either that, or Im going to kill all of you.
Listen, I know youre going through a lot, but its not worth it. Its not worth it I promise you, Brito said, still urging her to drop the knives. When tasers failed and Cisneros charged at the officers, they fired, ending a confrontation that highlights both the dangers police face on city streets and the tragic human cost of a justice system that too often fails to prevent violent offenders from roaming free.
