Pioneer Woman Ree Drummonds foster son is facing a slate of serious criminal accusations after an arrest on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, raising uncomfortable questions about celebrity image-making and personal responsibility.
Drummond, a Food Network star and bestselling author who has built a lucrative brand helping Americans glamorize their homesteads and spruce up their meals, has long cultivated a wholesome, family-centered persona. According to Western Journal, that image included her public embrace of a foster son, whom she introduced to fans as part of her close-knit household.
In fact, as Fox News reported, Drummond wrote in her November 2020 book that she had been fostering a son. She even described him as an inextricable part of our wacky family.
Alas, Drummonds wacky foster son, Jamar Goff, now 23, is confronting grave allegations after his Sept. 15 arrest at UAB. Goff was booked on multiple charges, including drug possession, 2nd degree assault on a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and attempting to elude a police officer.
Officers had reportedly been dispatched to investigate a suspicious person on campus and ultimately discovered a shirtless Goff asleep. Curiously, Goff apparently told officers he was there to purchase drugs, but police initially let him go.
When officers later learned there was an outstanding warrant for Goffs arrest, they returned to detain him and attempted to place him in handcuffs. Goff allegedly struck an officer with an open palm before fleeing on foot.
People magazine reported that Goff also allegedly bit an officers hand during the encounter. People also noted that the prior arrest warrant appeared to be connected to another incident.
On May 23, 2025, Goff was arrested on third-degree domestic violence charges, when his then-girlfriend alleged that he forcibly shoved her to the ground by her neck. The woman also successfully petitioned to get a protective order, requiring Goff to stay at least 500 feet away from her at all times.
Drummond, who has often highlighted her family life as part of her brand, has four biological children with her husband, Ladd, in addition to Goff. In order of oldest to youngest, Drummond and her husband, Ladd, share Alex, 29; Paige, 27; Bryce, 24; and Todd, 22.
In 2019, Paige had gotten arrested for underage drinking, another episode that cut against the carefully polished image of frontier virtue and domestic stability.
