Fox News confirmed the split in a brief statement on Thursday, saying, We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 years and wish her all the best on her next chapter. The network offered no explanation for the move, and It is unclear why Maria Bartiromo parted ways with Fox News, leaving many in the conservative base to speculate about internal politics and pressure from the left.
Bartiromo had been conspicuously absent from her programs in recent weeks, fueling rumors that something was amiss behind the scenes. Fox News Media later issued a formal announcement: Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media.
Reiterating its earlier line, the company added, In making the announcement, FOX News Media said, We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 years and wish her all the best on her next chapter. The last episode of *Mornings with Maria* (69 AM/ET) aired Thursday on Fox Business Network, and the program will now be rebranded as *Mornings with FOX Business* with rotating anchors beginning Friday.
*Maria Bartiromos Wall Street* (Fridays, 77:30 PM/ET) will be replaced by *FBNs Wall Street*, hosted initially by Cheryl Casone and then by a rotation of anchors. Fox Business Network will also roll out a new weekday programming schedule in the coming weeks, signaling a broader reshuffle that may further distance the channel from some of its most pro-Trump personalities.
On the cable news side, Fox News Channels *Sunday Morning Futures* (1011 AM/ET) will be hosted this Sunday by former Congressman Jason Chaffetz, with a permanent replacement to be named later. Fox stressed its continued dominance in the ratings, noting that it operates FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, FOX News Digital, FOX News Podcasts, FOX News Audio, FOX News Books, FOX Nation, FOX News International, and FOX Weather, and that FNC has been the most-watched cable news channel for more than 24 consecutive years.
