North Carolina Republican Senate nominee Michael Whatley has secured the endorsement of the National Border Patrol Council, a significant boost in a race where border security has become a defining issue.
According to Just The News, Council President Paul Perez announced the endorsement during a series of events across North Carolina, underscoring the unions confidence in Whatleys stance on immigration enforcement. Perez said in a statement that Whatley "has proven that he is going to be a strong supporter of securing our border and ensuring our men and women on the frontlines have the support they need to do their job."
The National Border Patrol Council, which represents approximately 18,000 Border Patrol agents and support staff, has not been exclusively aligned with one party and has previously backed some Democratic candidates. Its decision to support a Republican in this contest highlights growing concern among law enforcement professionals over the Biden administrations lax border policies and the broader consequences of unchecked illegal immigration.
Whatley, aligning himself with the strong-border agenda championed by President Donald Trump and many conservatives, framed the endorsement as a mandate to restore order at the southern border.
