Country music icon Dolly Parton will be commemorated with a transatlantic, two-weekend festival designed as a jubilant tribute rather than a somber farewell.
According to the Daily Caller, Partons team confirmed Monday that Dollyfest formally billed as Dollyfest: The Celebration of a Lifetime will be staged in 2027 across two consecutive weekends in Nashville and London. What began as a single multi-artist event planned for January 2026 in Nashville, with Parton herself slated to serve as both host and headliner, will now morph into a global double-day, double-weekend, double-continent party of a lifetime, her representatives said.
The project reflects a distinctly American, celebratory approach to legacy, emphasizing joy, creativity and individual spirit over the kind of politicized spectacle that often surrounds celebrity memorials today. Danny Nozell, Founder and CEO of CTK Enterprises, underscored that continuity of vision, stating, What Dolly started, we will ensure is brought to life.
Nozell revealed that the concept had been in motion long before Partons passing, rooted in her own wishes rather than in any media-driven narrative. Many people behind the scenes know that DOLLYFEST is a dream of Dollys that was intended to take place on her 80th birthday in Nashville. We had the venue booked, and we had the announcement ready to go. And then, in August 2025, Dolly had to take a step back after her initial health challenges.
That insistence on honoring Partons intentions, rather than bending to cultural or corporate pressures, runs through the planning. Nozell continued, A lot of people always say, WWDD (What Would Dolly Do?), and, well, at this moment, DOLLYFEST is WDWD (What Dolly Would Do!).
Partons estate also acknowledged the many organic tributes that have emerged since her death, making clear they will not attempt to control how ordinary Americans choose to remember her. We are not discouraging people from celebrating Dolly in the ways they choose, Nozell said.
At the same time, the estate is drawing a firm line against the kind of elaborate, performative memorials that often overshadow the person they claim to honor. However, as far as a traditional memorial goes, that is not something Dolly wanted. So, instead, it feels more appropriate for us to take a beat, let all the tributes that immediately make sense occur naturally, and then see through this festival-style concept that was truly dreamed up by Dolly.
Nozell emphasized that the festival is meant to be both emotionally honest and widely accessible, not a closed-door affair for elites. He continued, This is something that is authentic to her, something that feels right to me, and something that artists and fans around the world can participate in, while also giving everyone time to grieve, and giving everyone time to plan.
Specific ticketing and programming details have yet to be released, but fans are being directed to Partons official website, where they can sign up for future announcements. Parton died Aug. 25 at age 80 and was laid to rest in a private ceremony on Aug. 28, and Dollyfest now stands as the large-scale, fan-centered celebration she envisioned long before her passing.
