Far-left Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman is facing a wave of online ridicule after boasting about a fixed crosswalk that still sits atop a visibly crumbling street.
As reported by the Gateway Pundit, Raman touted the project on Twitter/X, noting that The Los Feliz Neighborhood Council alerted our office in late 2025 to the need for a crosswalk at Sunset Dr. and Bates St., which has just been completed! She praised her staff, adding, Thank you to our incredible CD4 Field Team for continuing to problem-solve, push for solutions, and make our streets safer.
According to the New York Post, the Los Angeles city councilwoman shared before-and-after photos of the intersection, proudly describing the crosswalks makeover at Sunset Drive and Bates Street in Los Feliz. Yet the images showed glaring cracks and broken pavement beneath the fresh yellow stripes, prompting many to accuse her of celebrating cosmetic changes while ignoring basic infrastructure decay.
Critics on X quickly seized on the disconnect, with one user asking pointedly, So they put lipstick on a pig? The reaction underscored growing frustration with progressive leadership in Los Angeles, where residents see soaring taxes and regulations but little improvement in day-to-day quality of life.
Conservatives argue that this episode is emblematic of a city government more interested in virtue signaling than in competent governance and real repairs. With the left having pushed Spencer Pratt off the ballot, voters are now left choosing between what critics describe as this moron or the incapable incumbent, a choice many see as proof that Los Angeles is pretty much doomed at this point.
