House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who rarely find themselves on the same side of a political dispute, issued strikingly similar statements Sunday denouncing a Republican House primary campaign in Florida as openly anti-Semitic.
According to Mediaite, the bipartisan rebuke targeted Daniel Bilzerian, a hard-right influencer challenging Rep. Randy Fine in Floridas 6th District. Jeffries condemned the rhetoric in stark terms, writing, The hateful campaign being run by Daniel Bilzerian in Florida is blatantly antisemitic and shocks the conscience.
People of goodwill regardless of political affiliation must reject his vile attacks on the Jewish community. This cannot and will not stand, added the top House Democrat, signaling that even in a sharply polarized Congress, there are limits to what will be tolerated. Johnson, for his part, issued a statement just over an hour earlier that echoed the same alarm over the tone and content of the race.
The vile attack ads against Congressman Randy Fine in Floridas 6th District are disgusting and should be condemned by all political leaders on the Right and Left. Antisemitism and outward hatred of Jewish communities have no place in our politics or in America, and we will continue to call them out wherever they arise, Johnson declared, underscoring a standard conservatives have long argued should apply across the political spectrum. On Tuesday, voters will reject the revolting rhetoric, and I am proud to endorse @VoteRandyFine as he works to continue delivering results for every family in #FL06, Johnson concluded, aligning Republican leadership firmly behind Fine.
Bilzerian, known for flaunting wealth and excess while posturing as a hard-right firebrand, has built his campaign around explicit anti-Israel and anti-Semitic themes. He recently released an AI-generated ad that labeled Fine a fat Jew who supposedly serves Israels interests over those of the United States.
The same ad, which appears to have triggered the rare joint condemnation, went even further into overt bigotry. It smeared Fine as a satanic whore, a Shylock, and, while showing footage of Adolf Hitler, chillingly asked, Should we revisit that Austrian painters opinions?
