Sad new details have emerged surrounding the sudden death of actress Hayden Panettiere, whose passing has stunned fans and colleagues across the country.

As reported by Gateway Pundit, Panettiere died at the age of 36, with ABC News and TMZ confirming the tragedy. The actress, remembered for her roles in Nashville, Heroes, and the 2000 football classic Remember the Titans, had long been in the public eye since childhood.

Panettiere had previously spoken openly about her battles with alcoholism and postpartum depression, a struggle that highlighted the often-ignored mental health crisis in Hollywoods high-pressure culture. Her family had already endured heartbreak when her younger brother, Jensen, died in 2023 at 28 from an undiagnosed heart condition.

She leaves behind a young daughter with her ex-fianc, heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko, a man admired for his discipline and traditional family values. Now, new reporting raises deeply troubling questions about whether Panettiere may have taken her own life.

According to the New York Post, 911 dispatch audio reveals that an unidentified friend called emergency services at 1:51 p.m. Sunday from a Greenville, South Carolina, apartment to report an unresponsive female in cardiac arrest. Panettiere and her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, had flown from Los Angeles to South Carolina the previous day, though it remains unclear whether he was the caller.

A paramedic on the recording can be heard stating that Panettiere had suffered an overdose and that CPR was underway. The responding team attempted to revive her using CPR and advanced cardiac life support, which, TMZ reports, included specialized medications, breathing tubes, and heart rhythm monitoring.

Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m., despite those efforts. A spokesperson told PEOPLE there were no immediate indications of a crime and that a full autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances, the spokesperson said. An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call.
