Republican House Majority Leader Steve Scalise is warning that the modern Democrat Party has undergone a Bolshevik Revolution, arguing that the ideological gulf between the two major parties has never been wider.
As reported by Gateway Pundit, Scalise contends that what was once a contest between two relatively moderate parties has morphed into a stark choice between traditional law-and-order conservatism and a left wing increasingly captured by extremists. He notes that two years ago, I think it was one of the most significant elections weve ever had because of the true differences at the top, but insists that in this election, you dont need to make the case.
Scalise told Real Clear Politics, I think people are seeing there has never been a difference in the two parties in my lifetime that I have ever seen. Its on full display. He recalled that it used to be Republican versus Democrat, and in most issues, both parties were pretty similar, with only a handful of policy disagreements separating the candidates.
Right now, the Democrat party has been taken over. I call it the Bolshevik Revolution, Scalise said, charging that the partys agenda is being driven by socialists, Marxists, communists, whatever you want to call them. He highlighted proposals to not only defund the police, defund prisons, asking pointedly, what does that even mean? Will these people that say that take the prisoners into their house?
I mean, its insane. We are fighting for safe neighborhoods, safe communities, Scalise added, pointing to cities like Detroit where significant effort is being invested to restore public safety and stability. Imagine if you just shut the prisons down. What could possibly go wrong?
The refusal of Democrat leaders to distance themselves from the Democratic Socialists of America underscores, for many conservatives, a party drifting further left despite clear voter backlash in 2024. With crime, public safety, and social order already pressing concerns, Scalises warning reflects a broader fear on the right that granting real power to the radical left would jeopardize the security and stability of American communities.
