A slickly marketed effort to sell Texas voters on Republicans for Talarico is rapidly unraveling as yet another manufactured narrative designed to prop up a far-left Democrat.
According to the Gateway Pundit, the supposed wave of GOP support for Texas Senate candidate James Talarico first surfaced in the form of Republican Moms who claimed they were abandoning the party to back the progressive hopeful, but the story quickly began to look contrived. Now, fresh reporting indicates that a group styling itself as Republicans for Talarico is not a grassroots conservative movement at all, but a political mirage built on misleading labels and carefully curated media appearances.
The Daily Wire detailed how left-leaning outlet MS NOW aired a segment featuring three Texas women who introduced themselves as Republicans ready to cross party lines for Talarico, even as public records show at least some of them have a history of voting in Democratic primaries and donating to liberal candidates and causes. Talarico, who has already drawn criticism for his fringe positions on Christianity, his open affection for transgender children, and his apparent disdain for the American flag, is counting on the illusion of Republican crossover support to become the first Democrat elected statewide in Texas in decades.
Republican National Committee spokesman Zach Kraft dismissed the entire operation in blistering terms, underscoring how contrived the effort appears to actual conservatives. Republicans for Talarico is as real as the six genders that Talarico claims exist, but has yet to explain what they are. This lame rebrand of White Dudes for Kamala is full of lifelong Democrat donors, activists, and other losers, Kraft said in a statement to The Daily Wire.
That rebrand was showcased earlier this month when MS NOWs political program Long Play highlighted three white women from Tarrant County who cast themselves as disillusioned conservatives eager to support one of the most liberal federal candidates Texas has seen. The segment went viral after Talaricos campaign amplified it and branded the trio Republican Moms, a label that now appears more like a strategic costume than an honest description.
One of the women, former school board candidate Mindy McClure, described herself on air as a moderate Republican, but her financial trail tells a different story. Federal Election Commission records show McClure has repeatedly donated through ActBlue to Democratic candidates and anti-Trump organizations since 2018, including the Lincoln Project and Kamala Harris 2024 presidential campaign.
Despite these revelations, polls heavily promoted by liberal media outlets continue to show Talarico leading in the race, even though his record and rhetoric resemble a political train wreck more than a viable statewide contender. Conservatives have seen this movie before, as polling in races such as Abdul El-Sayeds in Michigan and Francesca Hongs in Wisconsin once showed them winning by comfortable margins, only to be proven wildly inaccurate when voters actually cast their ballots.
The pattern raises an obvious question: are these polls and media narratives meant to measure public opinion, or to manufacture it in favor of the far left? For many on the right, the manufactured Republicans for Talarico brand, combined with friendly coverage and suspect polling, looks less like honest journalism and more like a coordinated attempt to undermine Texas conservatives and President Trumps agenda by dressing up committed Democrats as disaffected Republicans.
