New Yorks latest knife attack, in which a Jewish man and an Asian man were reportedly stabbed by a suspect shouting Allahu Akbar, has once again exposed the dangerous fusion of radical rhetoric and progressive excuse-making at the very top of the citys leadership.
According to Breitbart, credible reports indicate that the alleged assailant, identified as Raul Morales, targeted the two men on Thursday before being swiftly apprehended. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, described by Breitbart columnist John Nolte as a Communist-Islamist and antisemitic, quickly framed the episode through the familiar progressive lens of psychological distress, writing on X that The NYPDs initial investigation suggests that mental health may have been a factor.

Breitbart notes that just this week, he lamented the fact that he cannot arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for genocide and then, in a petulant act of sour grapes, encouraged New Yorkers to take to the streets to protest Netanyahus appearance at the United Nations.
This is a city where, if anyone feels a level of frustration or opposition, protest is something that we will always respect, Mamdani told reporters regarding Netanyahus visit, as quoted by Breitbart. That New Yorkers can express themselves, whether they are in support or in opposition, no matter on whatever topic.
According to Noltes analysis in Breitbart, Mamdani couches his Jew hatred into anti-Zionism, anti-Netanyahu, anti-genocide, pro-Palestinian rhetoric, a framing that the columnist argues offers moral cover to those already inclined toward antisemitism. In this view, the mayors rhetoric does not merely reflect policy disagreements but signals to Jew-haters who find validation for their hatred coming from no one less than the mayor of Americas largest city.
From that perspective, Mamdanis rush to highlight mental health in the wake of a potentially ideologically driven stabbing appears less like prudence and more like political damage control. As reported by Nolte, it makes perfect sense for Mamdani to try and downplay what right now looks like a hate crime inspired by his and the Democrat Partys ongoing support for and tolerance of Jew-hatred, blaming it on mental health.
Breitbart further notes that this incident comes amid a documented surge in antisemitic offenses in the city. Last month, there were reports showing that hate crimes against Jews jumped by 150 percent in New York, Nolte writes, underscoring the broader context in which such attacks are now occurring.
Nolte situates Mamdanis response within what he describes as a broader left-wing game plan that extends beyond New York. The lefts game plan and this obviously includes the corporate media is to activate and encourage unstable people to commit politically-motivated violence and then blame mental health and not their own incitement, he argues in Breitbart, accusing major outlets of moral complicity.
CNN, in particular, is singled out by Nolte as a prime example of this alleged strategy. CNN has spent over a decade smearing President Trump as a unique danger to democracy, a Nazi, and a racist, he writes, adding, Obviously, and I have been saying this for all of those ten years, those are dog whistles to encourage his assassination. After all, it is a virtue to murder a Nazi, no? And CNN has been successful. Look at all the near-misses their modern-day Manchurian candidates have had.
The Breitbart columnist extends this critique to Democratic officials beyond New York, arguing that the pattern of incendiary rhetoric followed by appeals to mental health is now standard operating procedure. Democrats, led by Gov. Mamdani is falsely accusing Netanyahu of genocide. Assassinating a leader committing genocide is a noble act, correct? he asks rhetorically, suggesting that such language can be interpreted as a moral green light by unstable individuals.
According to Noltes argument in Breitbart, the danger lies not in direct orders but in relentless demonization that finds a receptive audience among the mentally unstable and politically radicalized. Mamdani, Walz, and Jake Tapper are not going to go out and hire hitmen, but in a country of some 350 million, its a pretty safe bet that if you repeat the same blood libels over and over and over and over and over and over for years, some unhappy, neurotic loser is going to receive your message: You want to bring meaning to your life? You want to be someone? You want to be a hero? Kill Trump-Netanyahu-Jews-ICE.
For Nolte, this is not an aberration but a continuation of a long and troubling historical pattern within the Democratic Party. Whether its launching a Civil War, creating the Ku Klux Klan, or using violence to enforce Jim Crow, Democrats always-always-always turn to violence to get what they want, he writes in Breitbart, placing current events in a lineage of partisan brutality.
The Breitbart columnist closes by warning that the lefts rhetoric is paired with a parallel effort to strip law-abiding citizens of the means to defend themselves. They call us Nazis and seek to disarm us. Thats not exactly subtle, Nolte concludes, arguing that in a climate where leaders like Mamdani minimize or reframe ideologically charged attacks, conservatives and especially Jews have every reason to be wary of both the words and the policies coming out of progressive city halls.
