UFC is bringing big-league mixed martial arts to the White House grounds this summer, pairing a historic fight card with a patriotic celebration of President Donald Trumps birthday and Americas 250th anniversary.
According to the Gateway Pundit, UFC CEO Dana White revealed that the organization, in partnership with President Trump, will distribute roughly 85,000 free tickets for the UFC Freedom 250 event in Washington, D.C. White made the announcement on Fox News My View with Lara Trump, outlining plans for what will be the first UFC event ever staged on the White House grounds. The June 14 spectacle underscores the close alliance between the sports most powerful promoter and a President who has consistently embraced American exceptionalism, the military, and blue-collar sports fans often ignored or mocked by coastal elites.
A temporary 4,300-seat arena will rise on the South Lawn, with those coveted seats largely reserved for service members and their families. For everyone else, UFC is opening the gates of the nations capital, offering tens of thousands of free tickets so fans can watch the fights on massive screens from The Ellipse, the public park just south of the White House.
The fan zone will feature stages, live music, and additional entertainment, turning the day into a festival of sport and patriotism rather than just another pay-per-view. If you are a fan of the UFC and especially if you have never been to Washington, D.C., were going to give away about 85,000 tickets, White said, signaling a populist approach that stands in stark contrast to the corporate gatekeeping typical of major sports.
White urged fans to treat the event as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see both the capital and a championship-level card. Were going to be doing all kinds of things, you know, in D.C. for fans, and its really a cool city If youre a UFC fan, this is absolutely positively the time to come to D.C., he explained.
Although White admitted he generally avoids outdoor events because the weather is way too unpredictable, he made clear this show will go on under almost any conditions. If it rains, were going. If it snows, were going. The only thing that will stop us is lightning. But were working with the military, he said.
Military meteorologists will provide hourly weather updates in the week leading up to the event, allowing UFC to adjust the schedule if necessary without canceling. Even if lightning appears at some point during the day, Whites team is prepared to shift the timing earlier or later to ensure the fights still happen.
White told Fox, So these are all things that well be playing with the week of the event on top of all the other things that we will have going on, which we never had to deal with. He contrasted Washingtons unpredictability with his lone prior outdoor event, adding, The only time Id ever agreed to do an outdoor event was in Abu Dhabi... I could be the weatherman in Abu Dhabi, and I would be right every time, he said.
The fight card itself is designed to match the scale of the setting, headlined by Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje and an interim heavyweight title clash between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane. Also slated are marquee names such as Sean OMalley, Derrick Lewis, and Michael Chandler, underscoring that this is not a ceremonial exhibition but a full-strength UFC showcase.
In a nod to fiscal responsibility that will resonate with taxpayers tired of government excess, White has emphasized that the UFC is footing the entire bill, with Crypto.com co-presenting the event. No public funds will be tapped, allowing Americans to enjoy a massive, patriotic celebration at the Peoples Houseanchored by President Trumps leadership and UFCs private investmentwithout a single extra dollar taken from their wallets.
