Texas Governor Greg Abbott is projecting absolute confidence heading into November, declaring there is no chance Democrats will capture a statewide victory in the Lone Star State.
During a recent appearance on Fox News, Abbott moved to calm speculation that Texas might be competitive in either the Senate or gubernatorial contests, as reported by Gateway Pundit. With characteristic bluntness, he mocked years of media chatter about a looming Democratic breakthrough, saying, If I had a dollar for every time someone talked about turning Texas blue, I could buy Fox News. He then doubled down on his prediction, insisting, Theres no chance Democrats are going to win the election, and Ill tell you the reason why.
Abbott argued that Democrats are currently preoccupied with their own internal primary fight and have not yet faced a sustained general-election contrast. Right now, they are fighting to win the Democrat nomination. No one is exposing them for the leftists and socialists that they are. He stressed that their records will be a liability once voters are fully engaged, noting, Both of them have proven voting records of what they have done, whether it be in the Texas House or the United States Congress, that are going to be used against them.
The governor pledged that Republicans will draw a sharp ideological line in the fall campaign. We will show the contrast in November. These are people who are for open border policies. People who are in favor of defunding the police. People who are in favor of boys in girls sports. Abbott maintained that such progressive priorities are fundamentally out of step with Texas voters, asserting, Those policies dont sell in the state of Texas. Texas is a common-sense bastion in a country that is reeling from this leftist agenda.
Positioning himself as the guardian of that common-sense bastion, Abbott expressed confidence in the electorates judgment. The voters of Texas will vote in favor of common sense this November. Abbott, now seeking his fourth full term, recently secured the backing of President Trump, further solidifying his standing with conservative voters.
