Vice President Kamala Harris is currently topping early polling for the 2028 Democrat presidential nomination, underscoring the partys continued tilt toward its progressive wing despite growing voter unease with left-wing policies.

According to Breitbart, data compiled by Race to the White House shows Harris with a 27.5 percent national polling average, edging out California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who stands at 22.7 percent. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) registers nine percent support nationally, while former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg posts an 8.7 percent average.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) records a 4.9 percent national polling average, and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) comes in at 3.4 percent. The recent report comes as Harris, Newsom, and Ocasio-Cortez have been floated as likely contenders to run for president in 2028, according to Newsweek.

Ocasio-Cortez received ten percent, with Buttigieg and Shapiro each at seven percent, suggesting a crowded field of liberal contenders vying to carry forward the Biden-Harris agenda that many conservatives argue has fueled inflation, weakened borders, and expanded federal power at the expense of individual liberty.
