During a recent segment on Fox News Channel's "The Story," U.
S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker highlighted Vladimir Putin's persistent refusal to acknowledge the significant loss of life in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
According to Breitbart, Whitaker emphasized Russia's historical willingness to endure substantial casualties, stating, "Russia has never been willing to acknowledge, and theyve always been willing to suffer more than most countries. These kind of losses in the millions of casualties would never be tolerated by any other country, except Russia."
Host Martha MacCallum questioned whether Putin had ever expressed regret over the mounting deaths, particularly among young soldiers, and sought a negotiated end to the war.
Whitaker confirmed that Putin has not shown such remorse, reiterating Russia's unique tolerance for high casualty rates. He remarked on the minimal battlefield gains achieved at such a high human cost, urging acceptance of the harsh realities.
Whitaker also praised President Trump for his ability to pursue peace amid the chaos, noting, "I think this is what President Trump is really good at, is, even through all the chaos and death and destruction that were seeing on the battlefield, hes still willing to see a peace deal through and see if theres a possibility."
