Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, has issued a stark warning to the newly elected socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani, advising him to resign from his position.
Giuliani, known for his tough stance on crime and conservative values, expressed his concerns about Mamdani's suitability for the role.
In an interview with the New York Post, Giuliani remarked, "My advice to him is to step down and do something else." He further criticized Mamdani, labeling him a "Communist right out of Karl Marx," and accused him of being unprepared for the responsibilities of mayoral office. Giuliani also alleged that Mamdani is a "supporter of Muslim extremism," a claim he substantiated by referencing a photograph of Mamdani with Imam Suraj Wahhaj, whom Giuliani described as "a strong supporter of terrorism."
He clarified, "Im not worried that hes Muslim. Im worried that he supports Muslim extremism."
According to The Post Millennial, Giuliani questioned Mamdani's ability to secure a federal security clearance, stating, You think the federal government will give this guy a security clearance? He went on to assert, Zohran Mamdani is a serious security threat to the United States of America. Hes a Communist and a sympathizer for Muslim terrorism.
Mamdani's victory in the November election saw him triumph over former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican contender Curtis Sliwa. Giuliani's additional counsel to Mamdani was to "love America," a sentiment reflecting his patriotic values.
In the wake of Mamdani's election, New York Governor Kathy Hochul has expressed reservations about his proposal to eliminate bus fares in the city. She stated, "I cannot set forth a plan right now that takes money out of a system that relies on the fares of the buses and the subways. But can we find a path to make it more affordable for people who need help? Of course, we can."
Mamdani has also taken a firm stance on the relationship between the New York City Police Department and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), declaring that the NYPD "will continue to not be of assistance to ICE whenever they are trying to terrorize New Yorkers across the five boroughs."
He emphasized the importance of maintaining a separation between the NYPD and ICE, and criticized former Mayor Eric Adams for allegedly facilitating civil immigration enforcement.
