In Boulder, Colorado, a manhunt is currently underway for a suspected Antifa member who is believed to have assaulted a 19-year-old student leader from Turning Point USA.
The incident, which involved a hockey stick, took place near the University of Colorado on Thursday.
According to American Military News, the Boulder Police Department, in a post on X (previously known as Twitter), stated that they received a distress call about an assault at approximately 7:06 p.m. on Thursday. The victim, who was cycling at the time, reported that a man on roller blades approached him from behind and launched a verbal and physical assault with a hockey stick.
The victim, identified by The Post Millennial as a 19-year-old student leader from Turning Point USA, did not sustain severe injuries and declined medical treatment after the incident. The Boulder Police Department released images of the suspect, describing him as a white male of medium-tall height and slender build. He was reportedly dressed in all black, wore a black ski mask, and had a green Gatorade bottle with an orange top in his back right pants pocket. He was also seen wielding a hockey stick.
The Boulder Police Department reported that the suspect fled the scene after the victim called the police. Despite their efforts, law enforcement officials have yet to apprehend the suspect. Preliminary information suggests that the suspect may have trailed the victim from the University of Colorado onto Baseline Road before the assault.
The police department also acknowledged that the victim had been the subject of several social media posts and a digital flyer circulated prior to the incident. "Whether these played a role in the reported assault is part of the investigation, and police are not commenting further on this finding," the department stated.
Andy Ngo, editor of The Post Millennial, shared images of a "hit list" flyer circulated by Colorado Springs Antifa and Front Range Antifa. The flyer, which was published shortly before the assault, included the 19-year-old Turning Point USA student leader. The list accused the student of being an active member of "neo-Nazi organizations," held him accountable for "white supremacist, antisemitic, and anti-LGBTQ vandalism on campus and across Boulder," and suggested his participation in a "white supremacist boxing tournament."
Ngo also released additional photos from the Boulder Police Department showing a "person of interest" in the "hockey stick assault." The Post Millennial editor alleged that the suspect is a member of Antifa.
This incident underscores the ongoing tension between conservative groups like Turning Point USA and left-wing organizations such as Antifa. It also raises questions about the role of social media in inciting violence and the responsibility of law enforcement to protect individuals from targeted attacks. As the investigation continues, the Boulder community awaits answers and justice for the victim.
