Joel Gilbert, a renowned investigative journalist and filmmaker, has recently penned a series of articles on New York Attorney General Letitia James, published on The Gateway Pundit under the title "The Letitia Files".
Gilbert has also announced the forthcoming release of his latest film, "Roseanne Barr Is America", which features the celebrated comedian and vocal Trump supporter, Roseanne Barr. The film's World Premiere is slated for June 9 at the National Press Club in Washington DC, and the general public is cordially invited.
According to The Gateway Pundit, the film delves into the life of Roseanne Barr, tracing her journey from her humble beginnings to her rise as a comedy legend. It also sheds light on the political forces that led to her being "canceled" from Hollywood in 2018, owing to her support for Trump, both on-screen and off.
The World Premiere screening is set to take place at the National Press Club in Washington DC on June 9, and the public is once again invited to attend.
Following the premiere, the film will be made available on Video on Demand in 86 million homes, including all major satellite and cable providers. It will also be accessible on DVD and all major Livestreaming services, including iTunes, Amazon Prime, and YouTube movies. In an exclusive interview with The Gateway Pundit, Gilbert shared his insights about the film and its central figure, Roseanne Barr.
"I believe that Roseanne Barr is a very important figure in America today, whose full story had not been told. In 'Roseanne Barr is America', Roseanne puts her entire life story together for the very first time, narrating an amazing and often hilarious life journey. You will learn more about her life and politics than you can imagine," Gilbert stated.
Gilbert went on to describe Barr as a comedy legend and a patriotic American whose passion for her country is unrivaled. He lamented that despite her legions of fans, Barr is often misunderstood due to the media and Democrats' false portrayal of her over a misunderstood tweet in 2018, which led to her being canceled from Hollywood.
"Roseanne Barr was the most high-profile victim of cancel culture. For the 2018 reboot of her popular 'Roseanne Show', Roseannes idea was to have a Trump supporter and a Hillary supporter living under the same roof who were in conflict, but still loved each other," Gilbert explained.
He further elaborated on the incident that led to Barr's cancellation. As a comedian known for her edgy sense of humor, Barr had responded to a Twitter meme of Valerie Jarrett next to actress Helena Bonham Carter with a political joke. However, her tweet was misconstrued as "racist" by the left, who were looking for ways to demonize Trump supporters. This led to the cancellation of Barr's show, and she lost her agent and manager.
Gilbert pointed out the hypocrisy of the left, which was revealed only a week later when Democrat Samantha Bee used scripted vile language on her show against Ivanka Trump and was quickly forgiven, as were Whoopi Goldberg and other Democrats for vile antisemitic rants.
"Cancel culture is a political tool of the American left to attack, intimidate, and debilitate their enemies in their pursuit of political power. The targets are always Republicans or conservatives," Gilbert stated.
He further explained that cancel culture has become so powerful that conservatives have begun to practice self-censorship out of fear of becoming a target. He cited the example of Major League Baseball moving their All-Star game out of Atlanta after the state of Georgia passed a law tightening up the mail-in voting procedures.
Gilbert concluded by stating, "Roseanne Barr is America because she embodies the American dream. She grew up in small-town America, in Salt Lake City, Utah, overcoming tremendous obstacles to become a great American icon."
Today, Roseanne Barr remains a popular figure, in high demand for talk shows and podcasts, and continues to give speeches at events, including introducing Donald Trump at a rally in 2024, speaking at the ReAwaken America! event, doing stand-up on Fox Nation, and appearing at many events.
