In a recent episode of SiriusXMs "The Megyn Kelly Show," guest Emily Jashinsky had some strong words for NewsNations Chris Cuomo, telling him he could "screw off" following his controversial stance on the tragic death of Laken Riley and the issue of illegal immigration in the United States.
According to the Daily Caller, despite the fact that a significant majority of Americans are in favor of deporting illegal immigrants with criminal records, Cuomo has remained steadfast in his views. He cited the political discourse surrounding Riley's death and illegal immigration as reasons for his refusal to alter his perspective on the two major political parties.
Jashinsky, while discussing Cuomo's response, highlighted the alarming number of individuals with criminal backgrounds who have entered the U.S. under the Biden administration.
Jashinsky expressed her frustration with Cuomo's stance, stating, He can screw off because its absolutely not fake. If you look at the numbers of people who cross into this country with criminal backgrounds that are not just people who have crossed the crime of crossing the country illegally and returning.
She went on to emphasize the significant number of individuals with histories of violent crime who have managed to enter the country, arguing that this fact alone should be cause for considerable concern.
Jashinsky further criticized the notion of open borders, suggesting that they have been exploited by those with malicious intent. She said, If you talked about the way people who work in law enforcement, its sort of obvious that the open borders have been exploited by people who wish to do terror, people who wish to do great harm to the American people.
She dismissed the idea that these instances are isolated, arguing that such a belief could lead to a false sense of security among the American public.
During President Donald Trumps first 100 days in office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported that the agency had arrested 66,463 illegal aliens and removed 65,682 aliens, including criminals who threaten public safety and national security. ICE data reveals that three out of four illegal migrants arrested were criminals with records ranging from assaults, DWIs or DUIs, to weapon offenses.
A Pew Research Center study conducted in March found that an overwhelming 97% of their 5,123 respondents agreed with the deportation of illegal immigrants who have committed violent crimes.
Before Jashinsky's pointed remarks, host Megyn Kelly also took aim at Cuomo. She accused him of attempting to reinvent himself as a more moderate alternative to his previous persona. Kelly said, Hes trying to reinvent himself as a more reasonable alternative to what he used to be. Hes the same. She also criticized Cuomo and his political allies for their attacks on President Trump, particularly in relation to his stance on women's issues.
The discussion also touched on the tragic case of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student from Georgia who was brutally murdered by illegal immigrant Jose Ibarra. Riley's death, along with the murders of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray and 37-year-old Rachel Morin, sparked national outrage during the Biden administration.
However, some media outlets attempted to downplay the crimes committed by criminal illegal immigrants, further fueling the debate on immigration policy.
Kelly ended her critique of Cuomo with a blunt statement, saying, Im sick of this guys bullshit. This sentiment, shared by Jashinsky, underscores the ongoing tension and disagreement surrounding the issue of illegal immigration and its impact on American society.
