The Department of Homeland Security recently confirmed several things with Fox Digital News.
DHS did search a Biden officials office in Washington DC, and that official has been placed on administrative leave.
Brian Sulc, an executive director, had his office searched, and its now sealed off with tape. A spokesperson briefly spoke about the incident. According to Fox News, DHS is committed to ensuring all operational security protocols are followed and is conducting an inquiry into a reported security incident, the spokesperson said. DHS will not comment on ongoing internal investigations. The spokesperson said it is the protocol to place a person on administrative leave for an ongoing investigation.
Sulc is under investigation because he allegedly took a personal electronic device into a secure location. This is prohibited. He has not been arrested or charged with anything; the investigation is ongoing.
Per Fox News, A source familiar with the investigation told Fox News Digital that the Office of the Chief Security Officer searched Sulcs office at 4:15 PM on Monday, covered his office with tape and placed evidence seals on the door and keyhole to his office. One source referred to the tape as a crime while another said it was just tape. Then, the official was escorted outside and taken to another location for questioning.
Sulc runs a mission center that deals with policy issues, such as the border policy and the opioid crisis. Because of that, this is a huge deal.
So far, everyone is remaining tight-lipped about the incident. Officials, including Brian Sulc, have yet to speak on the incident. However, this comes as the Department of Homeland Security comes under consistent scrutiny because of how they have handled the border crisis, including both immigration and the policies at the border.
