President Joe Biden is set to appear in his first television interview since his recent debate with former President Donald Trump, a debate that has sparked a flurry of speculation and commentary.
The interview will be conducted by a highly regarded Sunday show host.
According to Mediaite, the debate, hosted by CNN, was marked by early missteps from Biden that sent shockwaves through the media, setting the tone for subsequent debate coverage. Despite an improvement in his performance as the debate progressed, calls for Biden to step down have been a prominent feature in post-debate discussions.
However, Biden's allies have been quick to point out that the political landscape remains unchanged since the debate. They also highlight the significance of post-debate events in shaping the ongoing narrative.
ABC News revealed on Tuesday afternoon that Biden will be interviewed by George Stephanopoulos, the host of 'This Week.' The network stated, "ABC News announces the exclusive, first television interview with President Joe Biden following the presidential debate last week. The President will sit down on the campaign trail Friday with 'Good Morning America' co-anchor and 'This Week' anchor George Stephanopoulos."
The interview will first be aired on Friday, July 5, on 'World News Tonight with David Muir', with segments also being broadcast on 'Good Morning America' over the weekend. The extended interview will be shown on Sunday, July 7, on 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos' and 'Good Morning America' on Monday, July 8.
