Chris Cuomo Spills The Tea On Daily Wire Drama: Are They Scared Shapiro Can't Handle Candace?

In a recent development, NewsNation anchor Chris Cuomo has insinuated that The Daily Wire, a conservative news outlet, is apprehensive about a potential debate between Candace Owens, a former host at the outlet, and Ben Shapiro, the company's co-founder.

Cuomo's assertion comes in the wake of a public disagreement between Owens and Shapiro on social media, centered around the issues of Israel and anti-Semitism.

Earlier this year, Owens departed from The Daily Wire. Following her exit, she challenged Shapiro to a debate on the "definition of anti-Semitism." However, the two never managed to settle on a specific time or date for this proposed intellectual face-off.

Adding fuel to the fire, Glenn Greenwald, a renowned journalist, suggested in his newsletter that The Daily Wire had obtained a gag order against Owens, effectively preventing her from engaging in a debate with Shapiro. Greenwald's report indicated that the gag order had been sanctioned by both Shapiro and the company's CEO, Jeremy Boreing.

Cuomo, during a podcast interview with Patrick Bet-David, proposed that The Daily Wire's enforcement of the gag order against Owens was driven by the company's fear that she would outperform Shapiro in a direct debate. Cuomo stated, "The Daily Wire doesn't believe that Shapiro wins the debate with Candace Owens."

When asked by Bet-David if he genuinely believed this, Cuomo responded, "One hundred percent, otherwise there's no reason to do it." He further elaborated that if the company was confident in Shapiro's ability to win the debate, they would have allowed it to proceed.

Cuomo went on to suggest that The Daily Wire's actions contradict Shapiro's public statements. He said, "That's what Ben Shapiro has been saying. Everybody's going to understand that Candace Owens has positions that are not just incorrect, but morally wrong in a way that Ben Shapiro says matters."
