Something strange is going on with a recent story out of the US Virgin Islands.
A US champion swimmer was found dead at her home in the US Virgin Islands at 42. According to the Daily Mail, her name is Jamie Cail, and she was found unresponsive at her home on February 21.
The Daily Mail reports that her partner left a bar at approximately midnight and arrived back home to find Cail unresponsive. Police in the area has launched a criminal investigation into what happened here. They are looking to figure out what has happened in these circumstances.
Her boyfriend and friend took her to Myrah Keating-Smith Community Health Center. Paramedics performed CPR on her, but she was unresponsive to this and was ultimately pronounced dead.
The Daily Mail reports that Jamie Cail is a former University of Maine swimmer who was working in a coffee shop in the US Virgin Islands at this time.
Police now say that the Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating her death after authorities ruled her "dead on arrival" when they arrived at her home at approximately 2:40 pm.
A friend spoke with WMUR and said: "She was just she was she was a very beautiful person. She had a huge heart."
That person continued: 'She was really loving and kind and well-loved and popular on the island, and everybody knows her.'
In 1997, she competed in the Pan Pacific Championships and won a gold medal in a relay race. She also won a silver medal in another competition at the same event. She also holds records in the 200-yard fly, 400-yard IM, 200-meter IM, and 400-meter IM in the 15-16 age group.
In Huntington Beach, California, she won several state high school championships when she competed for her high school swim team.
The Virgin Islands Police Department released a statement in which they stated: 'On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at approximately 12:08 am, a male left a local bar to check on his girlfriend at their residence. Upon his arrival, he discovered his girlfriend on the floor."
Their statement continued: 'With assistance from a friend, the male got the female to a nearby vehicle and transported the female to the Myrah Keating-Smith Clinic.
It is undoubtedly a bizarre situation that no one would have anticipated, and many people still wonder what it is all about. It could be more straightforward. There is no question about that part of things.
