Blue states have become sanctuary cities for many, including transgender teens.
Maryland recently harbored a runaway from a red state, and when her adoptive parents didnt call her by the proper pronoun, they refused to give the teen back. Then, according to the grandmother, who has adopted the child, the child was sex trafficked.
The Daily Wire reports, A 14-year-old transgender runaway from Virginia endured a six-month nightmare that saw her twice fall into the hands of sex traffickers, the second time after Baltimore bureaucrats refused to return her to her home state because they accused her adoptive parents of misgendering her, according to records reviewed by The Daily Wire.
In legal documents, the child is named Sage. After her fathers death, Sage was adopted by her biological grandmother. However, things took a turn for the worse in August of 2021. That was when Sage, who was then identified as a boy named Draco, ran away. The teen wound up in Baltimore, where police saved her from a sex offender.
However, after that, the police refused to return the child to her grandmother. Because they said that her adoptive parents, which were also blood relatives, didnt recognize her gender, they sent her to live in a group home. Because apparently, thats better than a loving home with your grandparents.
According to The Daily Wire, Instead, the judge turned Sage over to the Baltimore City Department of Juvenile Services for placement in a hardware secure therapeutic facility which makes reasonable accommodation for Respondents expressed male gender and desire to live as a trans male. That meant housing the girl just rescued from a sex offender with some of Baltimores most troubled biological males.
Months later, Sage took off again. This time, she would up with pedophiles in Texas. Thankfully, Texas was willing to return Sage home.
Sage allegedly snuck out, thinking she would meet a boy a couple of years older than her. He groomed her online and then took her. After that, she was violently raped and sex trafficked. When Sage was found, her grandmother, Blair, tried to pick her up. The courts said she was in jail as a defendant, and then her attorney convinced the judge not to release her because Blair called her by the pronoun she. Then, there were abuse allegations. There were transphobia allegations.
Sage had become the poster child for the leftist movement, whether she wanted to be. The constant tug of war between the left and right continued, with Sage stuck in the middle and her grandmother unable to legally get her child back. Eventually, the Baltimore City Department of Social Services had guardianship over Sage. On November 15, Sage cut off her ankle monitor and took off.
Then, according to The Daily Wire, On January 24, 2022, the State Police of Texas Human Trafficking Division located Sage in Texasafter she allegedly was again beaten, raped, and trafficked. Unlike Maryland, Texas authorities immediately returned the frightened girl to her parents.
Its disturbing to know that this is what blue states do when they want to ensure that children receive gender-affirming care. They took advantage of the situation to turn Sage into a child that needed saving from a red state when she needed to be returned to her loving home.
