Watch: Nikki Haley Makes Her BIG Announcement On Valentine's Day

Today, Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina and United Nations Ambassador, declared her candidacy for the 2024 U.S. presidential election as a Republican.

In a video tweet, Haley highlighted her accomplishments as Governor of South Carolina and made an appeal for the country's future requirements.

Haley declared "It's time for a new generation of leadership.

Haley warned of multiple dangers confronting the nation such as the "socialist left," China, and Russia, asserting that some view the U.S. as exposed.

"They all think we can be bullied, kicked around. You should know this about me, I don't put up with bullies, and when you kick back it hurts them more if you're wearing heels."

Formerly part of the Trump administration as U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Haley is now running for the Republican Party nomination and was on good terms with former President Donald Trump when she left the post in 2018.

After the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, Haley publicly denounced Trumps actions and language used and did not support his claims regarding the 2020 election results.

At the start of the year, Trump reported that Haley had contacted him to discuss the option of her launching a campaign against him.

Trump advised Haley to "go by your heart if you want to run," and said if she wanted to pursue a run she "should do it."

Trump later made a comment that Haley had stated that she wouldn't be a contender for the White House in 2024 should Trump decide to run for re-election.

In a recent interview with Hugh Hewitt, Trump sent a subtle jab at Haley. "Nikki suffers from something that's a very tough thing to suffer from: She's overly ambitious."

It is anticipated that the roster of GOP contenders will expand in the following months. Reportedly, this list could include Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, South Carolina ex-Senator Tim Scott, and former Trump administration members such as Mike Pompeo and Mike Pence.
