Ivy League Or Stupid League: 31 Student-Run Organizations At Harvard Blame Israel Alone For Middle East Conflict

In a recent development, over 30 student organizations at the prestigious Harvard University have openly expressed their views on the ongoing Middle East conflict, squarely blaming Israel for the attacks perpetrated by Hamas against Jewish citizens.

This collective stance comes in the wake of a distressing weekend marked by 700 deaths and numerous kidnappings attributed to Hamas. A total of 31 student organizations joined forces to publish a letter titled, "Joint Statement by Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups on the Situation in Palestine." Among the participating groups was Harvard's affiliate of Amnesty International, as reported by the New York Post.

Robert P. George, a professor at Princeton University, shared his perspective on the matter on X, expressing his deep concern about the situation. He wrote, "31--yes 31--Harvard organizations have declared that the murders, rapes, kidnappings, and other atrocities committed by Hamas against innocent people are in no way the fault of Hamas, but are rather entirely the fault of ... Israel. Something is deeply, deeply wrong in academia."

In response to George's post, another X user commented, "Many elite universities have turned into hubs for neo-marxist indoctrination of all sorts and parents have zero clue."

The contentious letter began with the statement, "We, the undersigned student organizations, hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence." It continued, "Todays events did not occur in a vacuum. For the last two decades, millions of Palestinians in Gaza have been forced to live in an open-air prison. Israeli officials promise to open the gates of hell, and the massacres in Gaza have already commenced. Palestinians in Gaza have no shelters for refuge and nowhere to escape. In the coming days, Palestinians will be forced to bear the full brunt of Israels violence."

The list of groups endorsing the letter included the Harvard Islamic Society, the Society of Arab Students, the Harvard Jews for Liberation, and the Harvard Divinity School Muslim Association, according to Fox News.

The letter further criticized the "apartheid regime" in Israel, alleging that it has compelled Palestinians to retaliate. "The apartheid regime is the only one to blame," the letter stated. "Israeli violence has structured every aspect of Palestinian existence for 75 years. From systematized land seizures to routine airstrikes, arbitrary detentions to military checkpoints, and enforced family separations to targeted killings, Palestinians have been forced to live in a state of death, both slow and sudden."

The letter concluded with a call to action, "Today, the Palestinian ordeal enters into uncharted territory. The coming days will require a firm stand against colonial retaliation. We call on the Harvard community to take action to stop the ongoing annihilation of Palestinians."

Interestingly, the letter did not seem to hold Hamas or Palestinians accountable for any of their attacks, including the kidnapping of a German-Israeli tattoo artist, who was stripped naked and paraded through the Gaza Strip.
