A Hollywood director slammed the House Speaker for scowling at President Joe Bidens State of the Union (SOTU) speech but never said a word about the former House Speaker tearing up President Donald Trumps SOTU speech.
How quickly they forget or choose to ignore.
Breitbart reported Rob Reiner posted on Twitter, How does an American Speaker of the House sit and scowl and not applaud American success? Disgraceful.
Did he forget former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi not only scowling but tearing up then-President Trumps speech following his SOTU address in 2020? Pelosis defense was that she felt liberated after being condemned for behaving badly. House Democrats condoned her actions as they honored her with a standing ovation.
Tearing up Trumps speech was not Pelosis only disrespectful act toward the sitting President. As House Speaker, she had the honor of introducing the President but chose to snub him instead by providing a shortened introduction.
Twitter users wasted no time slamming Reiner regarding his lack of mentioning Pelosis antics, with one stating, Ask Nancy Pelosi.
Youll notice that hes not tearing up the script for the State of the Union Address like Nancy Pelosi disgracefully did several years ago, another user tweeted. Maybe you ought to think before you tweet once in a while, Rob.
Another user commented, You mean like how Pelosi tore up the speech? Or the time she sat and chewed on snacks the whole way through the speech? Or the time she kept rolling her eyes? Is this a parody account? another Twitter user asked.
Some users responded differently, simply posting pictures and video footage of Pelosi ripping up the speech. One Twitter user, @KurtSchemers, posted just one word in response to Reiner, Exactly! then followed with the video of Pelosi ripping the speech.
Before Tuesdays State of the Union address, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was asked if he would behave similarly to Pelosi ripping up Trumps SOTU speech. Breitbart reported that he doesnt believe in theatrics.
Tweets like Reiners seem to be typical from the Hollywood front. As long as they continue to tweet with blinders on, there are plenty of Twitter users ready, willing, and able to call them out.
