A concerned employee at Kaiser Permanente has leaked a controversial sex change training program that promotes the idea that children as young as three years old can identify as transgender.
The employee, who wishes to remain anonymous for fear of losing her job, was reportedly horrified by the content of the training. The leaked information was first reported by Libs of TikTok.
As part of the hospital system's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training, medical employees were required to watch a video featuring children explaining that they knew they were transgender at the ages of three and four. The video stated, "Many transgender people have ALWAYS known their true gender." One child named Rose said, "My name is Rose. I'm a transgender girl. I was born a boy, but I always knew that I was a girl." Rose's father then shared that the child would write notes to Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, asking to be turned into a girl.
The video also included an adult transgender man who claimed, "When I was 3, I decided that I was going to be a father and marry Janet Jackson." Additionally, a mother explained how her child, Elie, identified as a girl in her heart and brain by the age of four. Another individual in the video identified as non-binary, meaning they did not identify as either male or female.
Following the leak, Kaiser Permanente released a statement clarifying that the training did not endorse medical interventions for children in this age group. The statement emphasized that the video did not address adolescent transgender care or treatment plans, and that Kaiser Permanente does not provide hormone treatments or gender-affirming surgery to three and four-year-olds.
However, this incident highlights a growing trend among some medical professionals who promote controversial ideas about gender ideology. Diane Ehrensaft, a director of a gender clinic at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, has claimed that children can identify as "Tootsie Roll Pops," "Gender Smoothies," and "Gender Minotaurs." She argues that these identities are part of the "Gender Revolution." Dr. Lauren T. Roth, a pediatrician and professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, suggests that parents should adopt gender ideology "at birth or even before," and criticizes the colors pink and blue for imposing "expectations" on babies.
Even more concerning, a military physician named David Klein made a startling claim about the potential for sex changes to cure psychotic symptoms in patients. The Pentagon distanced themselves from his claims after being contacted for comment. Klein suggested that when treatments such as hormones and sex change operations were "optimized," psychotic conditions could "melt away." However, Dr. Stanley Goldfarb of Do No Harm, an organization seeking to restore the medical profession to the Hippocratic Oath, argues that the medical literature does not support minors being given hormones and puberty blockers as a standard practice.
The leaked sex change training at Kaiser Permanente raises important questions about the appropriate age for children to make decisions about their gender identity and the potential long-term consequences of medical interventions.
