A former social studies teacher from Chicago has been arrested by federal agents after allegedly making threats to shoot President Donald Trump and his youngest son, Barron.
Tracy Marie Fiorenza, 41, was taken into custody on Monday morning on the charge of transmitting threats to kill or injure, according to the U.S. attorney's office in Chicago.
Fiorenza is said to have sent an email on May 21 to the head of a Palm Beach-area educational institution, stating, "I will shoot Donald Trump Sr. AND Barron Trump straight in the face at any opportunity I get!" In another email on June 5, she allegedly wrote, "I would slam a bullet into Barron Trump with his father IN SELF DEFENSE."
Federal agents interviewed Fiorenza on June 14 at the Secret Service's Chicago field office, during which she admitted to sending the emails. She resides in Plainfield, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.
Fiorenza made her first court appearance on Monday afternoon, where a judge ruled that her case must be heard in Florida, where the charges were filed. She is scheduled to appear in Chicago's federal court on Wednesday, where the judge will determine how she will be transported to Florida.
On Facebook, Fiorenza, who goes by the name Tracy Fiorenza De Rothschild, claims to be a former social studies teacher at Chicago Public Schools. In several posts, she calls for the arrest of the Trump family and alleges the existence of a Hollywood "pedophile ring in the Arts."
In one post from August 20, Fiorenza wrote, "The Trump family Hollywood pedophile ring in the Arts followed home staff and students from Oxbridge Academy and Saint Andrew's Episcopal School in Maryland." She also claimed that Barron Trump was enrolled in classes at these institutions but never physically attended. Fiorenza added, "Although Barron Trump is branded with a genius IQ in both the Sciences and Arts, in reality, he is performing SIGNIFICANTLY below grade level."
In another post, Fiorenza once again called for the arrest of "the Trump family Hollywood pedophile ring in the Arts," alleging that most of the contact is through electronic means with advanced technology. She also shared a photo of a Trump effigy hanging from a noose in a tree.
The arrest of Fiorenza highlights the seriousness with which threats against public figures are taken. The Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies are tasked with investigating and apprehending individuals who make such threats. The case will now proceed in Florida, where Fiorenza will face the charges filed against her.
