Clinton's Candid Comedy: See Hillary's Rollercoaster Interview Response To Trump's Indictment Spree

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton responded with amusement to the news of former President Donald Trump's indictment by a Georgia grand jury for his attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in the state.

Clinton appeared on "The Rachel Maddow Show" on Monday, where she discussed an op-ed she had recently published when the indictment against Trump was announced.

Maddow jokingly greeted Clinton, saying, "Madam secretary, fancy meeting you here," to which Clinton responded with laughter and leaned back in her chair, exclaiming, "Oh, I can't believe this."

Maddow acknowledged that Clinton had warned the country about Trump's threat to democracy and asked if she felt any satisfaction in seeing her former Republican opponent facing prosecution. Clinton's tone quickly turned serious as she responded, "I don't feel any satisfaction.

I feel great profound sadness that we have a former president who has been indicted for so many charges that went right to the heart of whether or not our democracy would survive."

She continued, "I don't know that anybody should be satisfied. This is a terrible moment for our country to have a former president accused of these terribly important crimes. The only satisfaction may be that the system is working... and justice is being pursued."

Trump, along with 18 others, including former Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis, and Kenneth Chesebro, was indicted on Monday. This marks Trump's fourth indictment in just four-and-a-half months.

In late March, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 counts of business fraud related to hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels. Then, in June and August, special counsel Jack Smith indicted Trump twice within a few weeks.

The first indictment was for storing classified White House documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, and the second was for his unsuccessful attempt to remain in power after losing to Joe Biden.

Clinton expressed her sadness and concern over the situation, emphasizing the gravity of the charges against a former president. She stated, "This is a terrible moment for our country," and emphasized the importance of the justice system in pursuing these allegations.

While Clinton did not express personal satisfaction, she acknowledged that the pursuit of justice may provide some satisfaction in the sense that the system is functioning as it should. The former secretary of state's appearance on "The Rachel Maddow Show" provided an opportunity for her to discuss the indictment and share her perspective on the situation.
