Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers (D) has called for the prosecution of 10 individuals who allegedly participated in a plan to overturn the 2020 presidential election in favor of former President Donald Trump.

Speaking at a bill signing ceremony, Evers emphasized the need for accountability, stating, "There has to be accountability...What they did was wrong, and so Im hoping somebody will pick up the banner here because this has to happen..

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, on December 14, 2020, the 10 individuals gathered at the Wisconsin state capital and cast false electoral votes for former President Trump, disregarding the election results that showed President Joe Biden as the winner in the state.

The individuals involved in the alleged plan include Robert Spindell, chairman of the Republican 4th Congressional District; Andrew Hitt, former chairman of the state Republican Party; Kelly Ruh, chairwoman of the Republican 8th Congressional District; Carol Brunner, former vice chairwoman of the 1st Congressional District GOP; Scott Grabins, former chairman of the Dane County Republican Party; Darryl Carlson, former chairman of the 6th Congressional District GOP; Pam Travis, former vice chairwoman of the 7th Congressional District GOP; Mary Buestrin, former national committeewoman for the state Republican Party; Bill Feehan, chairman of the 3rd Congressional District GOP; and Kathy Kiernan, second vice chairwoman of the state Republican Party.

This call for prosecution comes after Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced charges against 16 individuals last month for their alleged involvement in a similar alternate election plan. The individuals face eight felony charges each, including election law forgery, conspiracy, and uttering and publishing. Nessel stated, "As part of this orchestrated plan, we allege that 16 Michigan residents met covertly in the basement of Michigan GOP Headquarters and knowingly and of their own volition signed their names to multiple certificates stating that they were: 'the duly elected and qualified electors for President and Vice President of the United States of America for the State of Michigan.' It was a lie."

Nessel further revealed that the individuals attempted to deliver their fabricated electoral votes to the Senate floor of the state capitol but were turned away.

In a separate development, former President Trump himself has been arraigned on charges related to his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election. The charges against him include conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction, and conspiracy against the right to vote and to have ones vote counted.
