Republican Presidential Hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy Releases Controversial Supreme Court Nominee List

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has unveiled a list of potential Supreme Court nominees, which includes two sitting GOP senators.

The list, consisting of nine figures, features Senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Mike Lee of Utah, as well as seven appellate court candidates. Ramaswamy took to Twitter to announce his selections, stating, "Today I am unveiling my hand-picked list of judicial appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court & to the federal Courts of Appeals."

In contrast to President Joe Biden's emphasis on diversity, Ramaswamy's sole criterion for selecting candidates was their unwavering commitment to an originalist interpretation of the U.S. Constitution. He also sought individuals who understood the unique threats to liberty in the 21st century, including potential state action. Ramaswamy emphasized the importance of the courts as the last line of defense against government overreach and weaponization, pledging to appoint judges who would protect the integrity of the constitutional Republic.

President Biden fulfilled his promise to nominate the first black woman to the Supreme Court by selecting Ketanji Brown Jackson. Ramaswamy, who recently participated in an interview with Tucker Carlson, has signed the "Presidential Promise to American Women" from the Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee.

The pledge, also signed by former President Donald Trump, asserts the truth that women are exclusively female and that only women can become pregnant and bear children. Ramaswamy's commitment to upholding the status and dignity of women and girls in law and policy is a key aspect of his campaign.

In a tweet, Ramaswamy expressed his support for the pledge, stating, "There are two sexes. If you have XX chromosomes, you're a woman. If you have XY chromosomes, you're a man. Period. Gender dysphoria is a mental health disorder. Affirming a kid's confusion isn't compassion. It's cruelty. That's the TRUTH. Proud to sign the @CWforA pledge."

With his list of potential Supreme Court nominees, Ramaswamy aims to solidify his commitment to conservative values and principles. By including sitting GOP senators and emphasizing the importance of an originalist interpretation of the Constitution, he seeks to appeal to conservative voters who prioritize limited government, individual freedom, and the protection of constitutional rights.

As the Republican presidential primary continues, Ramaswamy's stance on judicial appointments and his support for the Concerned Women for America pledge will likely shape the conversation around his candidacy.
