Can't Make This S*hit Up: Tennessee Mother Beats Bus Driver With Baseball Bat After Refusing To Drop Off Son At Different Stop

A mother in Tennessee has been arrested for allegedly assaulting an elementary school bus driver with a baseball bat.

The incident occurred on May 24 when the driver, who was transporting students from Lucie E. Campbell Elementary School, refused to drop off the woman's son at a different stop. According to Memphis police, the student called his mother, Jasmine Moton, who arrived at the scene shortly after.

Moton reportedly approached the bus with a baseball bat and shattered the glass of the bus door. She then walked around to the driver's side window, at which point the driver opened the front door to allow the student to exit. The mother used the baseball bat to hold the door open and proceeded to climb up the steps. She swung at the driver, hitting him three times in the arm and breaking the rearview mirror. After the assault, Moton fled the scene in her car.

The bus driver was taken to the hospital with severe swelling and bruising to his right arm and hand. Moton was apprehended on Monday and has been charged with vandalism, aggravated assault, and burglary of a vehicle. She is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

According to court documents, the cost to repair the bus is estimated to be $1,500. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of school bus drivers and the need for stricter protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
