Did A Dearborn Poll Worker Just Steer A Voter Straight To El-Sayed Caught On Undercover Camera?

An Arab poll worker in Dearborn, Michigan, directed an undercover journalist in Arabic to cast a ballot for Democrat Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, according to video released by OKeefe Media Group.

You dont know who to vote for? With the work Im doing, I cant tell you who to vote for. But you know theres someone you must vote for, the poll worker said in a translation published by The Post Millennial. When the undercover journalist asked about this Egyptian guy, the worker replied, Thats the one you want, and then fill in the rest, and noted that an Arabic-language ballot would be available.

Michigan law bars electioneering inside polling rooms and within 100 feet of a polling-place entrance, and violations are a misdemeanor under Michigan Compiled Laws 168.744, OKeefe Media Group reported. Unofficial results from the city of Dearborn showed 82 percent of voters backed El-Sayed while 16 percent supported Republican Mike Rogers, according to The Post Millennial.

El-Sayed defeated Rogers in Michigans U.S. Senate race in the midterm elections. The clip follows a separate OKeefe undercover video from Dearborn in which another Arab poll worker told a journalist posing as a noncitizen that he could vote for offices other than president including for El-Sayed despite federal law barring noncitizens from voting in federal elections.
