An undercover investigation in Arizona has raised fresh alarms about election integrity, alleging that Democrat-aligned organizations working to reelect Governor Katie Hobbs are willing to facilitate illegal voter registrations for noncitizens and convicted felons.
According to The Gateway Pundit, the investigative outlet Muckraker released a report detailing a series of covert operations in which its journalists posed as ineligible voters and were nonetheless encouragedor directly assistedin registering to vote. The groups implicated include Stand Indivisible Arizona, Worker Power, the Democratic National Committees registration program When We Count, and the powerful labor federation AFL-CIO, all of which are backing Hobbs or working to boost Democrat turnout in the state.
Muckraker summarized its findings bluntly, stating that Stand Indivisible Arizona (endorsed Gov. Hobbs in their 2026 ballot guide) Our journalist posed as a Canadian citizen and asked to register to vote. The canvasser not only agreed to help the alleged non-citizen register, but when asked whether other Canadians could register too, she said, Tell them to do it online. The group further reported that Worker Power (working to re-elect Gov. Hobbs) Our journalist told a canvasser they were not a U.S. citizen. Despite this, at our journalists request, the canvasser marked yes on the citizenship question of the voter registration form.
The pattern, Muckraker alleges, extended to the national level through the Democratic Partys own registration apparatus. When We Count (the DNCs own registration program) Our journalist posed as a felon on probation and asked to register to vote. The canvassers looked up the law and saw that a felon on probation is ineligible. Even so, they encouraged our journalist to register: You should just do it.
At the union-backed phone bank, the attitude was even more brazen, with Muckraker reporting that AFL-CIO (phone bank mobilizing voters for Gov. Hobbs) Our undercover journalist asked a phone bank trainer whether to ask the people being called if theyre citizens. The trainers answer: We dont care.
The first incident unfolded at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, where a Muckraker journalist, Anthony Rubin, approached a Stand Indivisible Arizona volunteer while posing as a Canadian national on an F-1 student visa. Were with, like, the county, Maricopa County, and Indivisible, the woman told Rubin, before assuring him that all you need is a drivers license to vote in Arizona, despite his admission that he was not a U.S. citizen.
When Rubin pressed the issue, the volunteer appeared to acknowledge the legal problem but signaled she would look the other way. She told him she did not think he could legally vote, but added that she would not report him if he tried, later remarking, Only if theyre voting on my side. I mean, I could not know. You have a drivers license Thats all I have to ask. Do you have a drivers license?
She then added, The other thing you could do is you could go online, but Id rather do it with you. But you can go online and register by this QR code. The exchange did not end there, as Rubin asked whether his Canadian friends could also sign up despite their foreign status.
The volunteer handed him a card with a QR code and instructed him to take this and tell them to do it online, elaborating, I mean it sounds like the better thing to do because youre just again attesting to you have a drivers license. In a state where many registration workers are reportedly paid per voter, often on a per-registration basis, such incentives raise obvious concerns about corners being cut and laws being ignored.
When Muckraker later confronted the Stand Indivisible Arizona volunteer with the footage, she attempted to flee and denied having made the statements captured on camera. The evasive behavior, rather than clarifying the situation, only underscored the perception that these operations are less about lawful civic engagement and more about maximizing Democrat votes by any means necessary.
A similar scenario played out at the Phoenix Public Library with Worker Power, another nonprofit that supports Hobbs reelection effort. There, a Muckraker journalist again posed as a noncitizen seeking to register, and while the Worker Power volunteer initially acknowledged that he could not vote as a noncitizen, she still allowed him to proceed with the registration attempt.
When Rubin later tried to question her about the apparent willingness to facilitate an illegal registration, she fled and refused to answer. At Worker Powers office, Rubin encountered another individual who initially claimed she was not affiliated with the group, only to walk directly into its premises moments later, further fueling suspicions about transparency and accountability.
The investigation then turned to When We Count, the Democratic National Committees national voter registration program, where Rubin posed as a felon currently on probation. Under Arizona law, felons whose civil rights have not been restored are barred from voting, and the statute explicitly makes it a felony to knowingly causes or procures another person to be registered as an elector knowing that such other person is not entitled to such registration.
At Mesa Community College, volunteers for When We Count appeared uncertain about the law but were still willing to move forward. If I can do it, I will register Dem right now, Rubin told them, prompting one woman to admit, I dont know for sure, before checking the law and confirming that he could not register until probation has been completed and his rights restored.
Despite that clear legal barrier, one of the women still encouraged him to go ahead, telling him, You should just do it Theyll check. Rubin responded, So f*ck it, just send it through, and lets see what happens? to which she replied, Yeah.
When confronted later, the volunteers denied endorsing illegal registration and refused to answer further questions, even as the recorded conversation suggested otherwise.
The final segment of the probe targeted the AFL-CIO, Arizonas state labor federation representing roughly 100,000 union members and a reliable pillar of support for Democrat candidates. Muckraker infiltrated a phone-banking operation there, with an undercover journalist posing as a volunteer and asking a trainer whether callers should verify that the people they were contacting were U.S. citizens.
The trainers response was blunt and dismissive of any legal or ethical obligation. We dont care, he said, adding, Not our issue, and, Its none of our business, signaling a cavalier attitude toward one of the most basic safeguards of American elections: that only citizens vote.
When Rubin attempted to question Governor Hobbs directly about these findings at a recent get-out-the-vote and labor rally in Phoenix, the Democrat governor did not offer an explanation or even a perfunctory statement of concern. Instead, staffers quickly moved to shield her from scrutiny, rushing her out of the room while trying to drown out Rubins questions.
What do you think about noncitizens getting registered to vote in this upcoming election? Weve caught multiple organizations that are working to reelect Katie Hobbs that are willing to register noncitizens and felons. Katie, do you have any comment? Rubin called out as Hobbs was hustled away by aides and supporters.
Rubin later remarked on camera, So Katie Hobbs has no comment on the situation where there are noncitizens getting registered to vote. Its the most incredible thing, as Democrat attendees responded not with concern, but with chants of Katie to drown him out. These lemmings certainly dont care. This is the situation out here in Arizona, he added, capturing the frustration of many conservatives who see a political class and activist network more interested in expanding their power than in upholding the rule of law and the sanctity of the ballot box.
