President Trump forcefully rebuked several unruly reporters who attempted to hijack an Oval Office announcement on a new federal compensation program for fraud tipsters.
The President unveiled the initiative alongside Vice President JD Vance, chairman of the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, task force Vice Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and independent journalist Nick Shirley. According to Gateway Pundit, the hour-long event was repeatedly disrupted by members of the legacy media, who appeared more interested in undermining the program than addressing the nationwide problem of systemic fraud.
Throughout the briefing, establishment reporters tried to divert the discussion away from accountability and waste, but President Trump refused to yield the floor. When one female reporter began shouting about Ukraine, he cut her off sharply, shouting wait! and shushing her as she continued to scream over him.
The Independents Andrew Feinberg, who had already posed a hostile question earlier, quickly became a focal point of the confrontation. As Feinberg attempted to shout over others, Trump pointed at him and snapped, No, no, listen to you. Hey! before adding, I dont know who the hell you are, but you better be careful, and then calling on another reporter.
Feinberg tried again to interject when the President recognized a different journalist seated nearby, prompting a second reprimand.
Quiet, Quiet! Trump shouted. Whats wrong with you? Are you a sick person?
Feinberg responded with a sarcastic, Not that I know of, sir, drawing yet another sharp retort from the President: I actually think theres something wrong with you. The tense exchange underscored a familiar dynamic in Washington, where a President focused on rooting out fraud and protecting taxpayers once again found himself battling a press corps seemingly more outraged by his tone than by the abuse of public funds he is trying to expose.
