Watch: Like Only He Can, Sen. Kennedy Responds To Trump Doxxing Cotton

President Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform over the weekend to publicly challenge Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) for obstructing the widely supported Sunshine Protection Act, legislation designed to make daylight saving time permanent and simplify life for millions of Americans.

According to The Gateway Pundit, President Trump went so far as to post Cottons cell phone number, giving voters a direct line to express their frustration with the Senators opposition to what many view as a straightforward, pro-family reform.

Rather than backing the President or addressing the substance of the bill, Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) chose to criticize Trumps tactics while appearing on NBCs Meet the Press, a venue long favored by the liberal media establishment.

Host Kristen Welker attempted to turn the dispute into a broader attack on Republicans, asking, How does that help the Republican Party a month out from the midterms, Senator?

Kennedy, instead of pushing back on the narrative or highlighting Democrat obstruction on far more consequential issues, opted to distance himself from Trump and flatter his media interrogator.

Well, Ill say first, Kristen, every now and then there are disputes in Congress that have existential significance for the future of Western civilization. Daylight Saving Time is not one of them," Kennedy remarked, downplaying a reform that many working families support as a matter of basic sanity and safety.

He then praised Cotton, saying, Tom Cotton feels strongly about it. Tom is a rock star senator. If you get between him and whats best for Arkansas, hell devour you like a light snack.

Kennedy tried to balance his criticism by calling Trump also my friend and adding, He feels strongly about it. The president, as we know, can be sometimeshe exists loudly. He can be tempestuous. He can go from zero to a-hole in about three seconds."

He continued, I dont think he should have given out Toms cell phone number. I dont think thats going to help convince Tom. And I have your cell phone number, but I promise not to give it out.

The exchange underscored a familiar divide inside the GOP: a populist base and a President willing to confront unresponsive lawmakers, versus Republicans more eager to appease legacy media than to stand firmly with voters on even modest, quality-of-life reforms like permanent daylight saving time.
