President Donald Trump used a campaign rally in Oklahoma to spotlight his opposition to the lefts gender ideology in sports, vowing to grant two retired NBA players a full pardon to dominate the WNBA and break every record in the history of womens sports."
Speaking Thursday night in Durant with Dennis Rodman and Enes Kanter Freedom on hand, the President praised Rodmans championship pedigree and Oklahoma ties, declaring, Youre a five-time NBA champion, Dennis. Man oh man, thats good, according to Mediaite. He then turned the moment into a pointed jab at policies allowing biological men into womens leagues, casting his proposal as a tongue?in?cheek defense of womens athletics.
So [Rodman and Kanter Freedom], they are good and they have an exemption. Im giving them a full pardon that they can go into womens sports anytime they want, Trump told the crowd, drawing laughter and applause. And I guarantee hes giving me a Thunder jacket and I guarantee you when they do, they will break, even though theyre slightly older although Freedom looks like hes pretty young they will break every record in the history of womens sports.
Rodman, who retired from the NBA in 2000 and has long been friendly with Trump, once claimed credit for helping facilitate the Presidents 2018 summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. While internet speculation has occasionally floated the idea, Rodman has never seriously expressed interest in joining the WNBA.
Kanter Freedom, by contrast, has directly challenged the league, declaring for the WNBA draft in August to protest its stance on transgender participation. His presence alongside Trump underscored a growing alliance between conservative critics and outspoken athletes who argue that protecting womens sports requires clear biological standards, a position increasingly at odds with progressive activists and many corporate sports institutions.
