Left-wing streamer Hasan Piker has openly pledged that he would absolutely hit the campaign trail for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez if she seeks the White House in 2028, underscoring just how far left the Democratic base has drifted.
According to Gateway Pundit, Piker made the remarks during an appearance on The Axios Show, where he not only praised Ocasio-Cortez as a future contender but also revealed ongoing communication with her circle. He stated, I think AOC would be a good candidate and acknowledged he had spoken with her and her team, Axios reported Friday.
When pressed on whether he would actively campaign for her if she runs, Piker did not hesitate. Oh, absolutely. Yes. What goes on behind the scenes in the Democratic Party and what gets talked about is entirely different, I think, in many respects, he said, hinting at a radical undercurrent within party leadership that rarely surfaces in public.
Reports dating back to March indicated that hard-left Democrats were already urging Ocasio-Cortez to mount a presidential bid, and subsequent coverage suggested she appeared to be edging in that direction. AOC is probably going to run in 2028, and that trajectory reflects where the activist base of the Democrat Party is nowfirmly aligned with socialist influencers and identity politics rather than kitchen-table concerns.
Does anyone really think Dem voters are going to be excited about Gavin Newsom or another run for Kamala Harris? No way. Whether Piker will retain any real sway by 2028 is another matter entirely, as even some Democrats are already distancing themselves from his brand of Marxist rhetoric while the party continues its leftward march away from traditional American values championed by conservatives and by President Donald Trumps supporters.
