Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi once again erupted at a reporter this week when confronted over her role in the security breakdown surrounding the January 6 Capitol unrest, barking, Get away from me, as she fled into a waiting vehicle.
The clash unfolded when LindellTV correspondent Allison Steinberg pressed Pelosi on her own previously recorded admission of responsibility for security failures at the Capitol, as reported by Gateway Pundit. In 2024, the House Oversight Committee released footage from January 6, 2021, in which Pelosi acknowledged her role in the lack of adequate protection as protests and rioting escalated. I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more, Pelosi said in the video, conceding that she failed to ensure a stronger National Guard presence that day.
Steinberg, citing that footage, confronted Pelosi two years after its release with a pointed series of questions that Democrats and corporate media have largely avoided. You admitted on January 6 when your daughter was filming you that you were responsible for security failures. Will you admit that now? Why are you denying that, Congresswoman Pelosi? You also blamed former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund for his role in it when you denied the National Guard, I think it was 71 times. Your sergeant-at-arms denied the National Guard 71 times. Why is that? If this was a so-called insurrection, why did you refuse the National Guard? Please answer to the American people. They would like to know. Pelosi refused to engage on the substance, snapping, You dont know what youre talking about! Get away from me! before ducking into her car.
A staffer quickly moved to shield Pelosi from further scrutiny, sneering that Steinberg should ask the question 37 more times. Yeah, maybe I will continue trying, Steinberg fired back, underscoring the persistence that legacy outlets rarely show when questioning powerful Democrats.
This is not Pelosis first outburst when challenged on her January 6 narrative or her treatment of the National Guard request under President Donald Trump. In June, she lashed out at Steinberg and ordered her to shut up after being asked why she turned the Guard away, later sneering, I want people to know that youre not a real journalist. You work for Mike the Pillow Man. All you do is spout untruths.
In yet another confrontation last year, Pelosi again lost her temper, shouting, SHUT UP! I did not refuse the National Guard. The President didnt send it. Why are you coming here with Republican talking points as if you are a serious journalist?! Her repeated fury when pressed on these issues only deepens the central question Steinberg raised: if January 6 was the so-called insurrection Democrats insist it was, why did Pelosi and her team repeatedly resist a robust National Guard deployment, and why does she react with rage instead of answers when Americans demand accountability?
