Trump made clear he intends to be the partys chief campaigner in the closing stretch of the midterms, casting the races as a referendum on his agenda and on Bidens record. I'm going to go to every one of those states for congressmen and for senators. And we're going to have rallies just like this. We're going to have big arenas loaded up with people. So the senators are great people, so many, just great people, he said, promising the kind of large-scale events that powered his previous campaigns. Your vote will decide whether our country stumbles at the starting gate of our next 250 yearsor surges forward and never looks back, he added, casting Republicans as the party of forward momentum and national renewal.
Central to Trumps case was the argument that Republican majorities in Congress had been indispensable in advancing his second-term agenda, particularly on border security. He credited GOP lawmakers with helping him reverse what he called the disastrous open-border policies of the left. The Democrats gave us the worst and most dangerous border in American history, Trump said, before declaring, Today, we have the strongest and most secure border in the history of our country. We have the lowest level of illegal immigration ever recorded. He insisted that only continued Republican control could prevent Democrats from dismantling those gains.
To that end, Trump called for codifying his border policies into law so that a future Democratic president could not simply reopen the border by executive fiat. In Michigan, the Democrat nominee is Abdul El-Sayedwho brags he wants to pack the Supreme Court with 23 far-left Justices, Trump said, portraying the proposal as an assault on the constitutional balance of powers. Trump further criticized El-Sayed for campaigning alongside left-wing streamer Hasan Piker, whom he described as a Marxist agitator who says that America deserved 9/11. The president argued that such alliances reveal the true extremism of the modern Democratic Party.
Yet the Democrats want to make this extremist a US Senator, Trump said, urging Michigan voters to reject El-Sayeds brand of politics. On November 3rd, Michigan is going to send Mike Rogers to Washington instead, he predicted, framing the race as a test of whether voters will endorse conservative leadership or embrace radicalism. Piker, who drew widespread condemnation in 2019 for saying during a livestream that America deserved 9/11, later apologized, but his remarks have continued to haunt Democrats who associate with him. El-Sayeds decision to campaign with Piker has given Republicans fresh ammunition to argue that the partys activist base is far out of step with mainstream American values.
Trump widened his critique beyond individual candidates, warning that a Democratic takeover of Congress would fundamentally alter the character of the institution. If Democrats prevail, he said, the greatest legislative body in history will, for the first time ever, be controlled by a Communist Caucus. The choice in this election is very simple, Trump said.
