According to the Gateway Pundit, Darializa Avila Chevalier, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), is running in New Yorks 13th Congressional District and recently appeared on ELR News to promote her agenda. Her candidacy reflects a broader push by radical Democrats ahead of the midterm elections, as the partys activist wing embraces policies that threaten Americas free-market foundations and traditional values.
Breitbart News reports that Chevalier is continuing to advocate for socialism, a leftist system that is threatening the United States, while aligning herself closely with the DSA. Speaking on ELR News with Kevin Ortega-Rojas, she explicitly tied her campaign to race-based socialist organizing within the far-left group.
I think with DSA specifically, something that Im very excited to do is to build black socialism within the caucuses of DSA, Chevalier said, outlining a vision that goes beyond generic class-based rhetoric. And something that my team and I were very intentional about were making sure that we werent just talking about socialism broadly, that we were talking about the legacy of socialism in our district, right? A legacy of black socialism, Latino socialism, that focused on racial justice as economic justice, she added.
Chevalier has spent much of the past decade in academia, collecting credentials rather than private-sector experience, a familiar pattern among DSA-aligned hopefuls who gravitate toward professorships or public office instead of productive enterprise. While at Columbia University, she was involved with Students for Justice in Palestine, a group known for its hostility toward Israel and its alignment with the progressive lefts anti-Western narratives.
In a deep-blue district like New Yorks 13th, her chances of victory are unfortunately strong, raising the prospect that yet another avowed socialist could enter Congress to push race-infused collectivist policies. For voters who still believe in limited government, individual liberty, and the American tradition of equal opportunitynot enforced equalityher rise is a stark reminder of what is at stake in upcoming elections.
