Once hailed as a progressive star, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is now facing open revolt from the very left-wing activists and operatives who helped send him to Washington.
According to the Gateway Pundit, far-left Democrats have turned on Fetterman over his unapologetic support for Israel and his willingness to call out the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), a group increasingly influential in the partys activist base. Their anger has now taken an organized form: a group of former staffers has launched an anonymous Twitter/X account, vowing to release all kinds of dirt in an effort to drive him from office.
The campaign against Fetterman gained momentum after a Wall Street Journal report painted a damning picture of his work ethic and commitment to his duties as a U.S. senator. The piece alleged that Fetterman routinely avoids the day-to-day responsibilities of serving as a U.S. senator and frequently dodges interactions with his constituents and colleagues.
One episode described in the report involved Fetterman canceling a scheduled visit with three paralyzed military veterans, claiming he did not feel well. Yet less than an hour later, he reportedly arrived at his office to sit for an interview with Fox News, raising serious questions about his priorities and respect for those who have served the country.
In another instance, Fetterman brushed off a meeting request from the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia regarding Medicaid cuts, dismissing the representatives by saying they only wanted free trips to D.C. He was also singled out as the only member of Pennsylvanias congressional delegation who refused to meet with constituents seeking federal help for flood-prone neighborhoods, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The report further detailed how Fetterman has used procedural maneuvers to have clerks mark him present at committee hearings, only to leave the room immediately without participating. Sources also claimed he declined to attend a memorial service for three fallen police officers after learning the ceremony would last three hours, a decision that will not sit well with voters who still value law enforcement and public service.
The anonymous staffer account has begun amplifying these stories and more, feeding a narrative that Fetterman is both unreliable and insufficiently radical for the activist left. Their attacks stand in stark contrast to the kid-glove treatment afforded to progressive darlings, prompting one pointed observation: while Fetterman is now branded as lazy and disengaged, Isnt it funny how no one on the left ever accuses AOC of being lazy and not doing her job?
That question cuts to the heart of the matter for many conservatives, who see a double standard in how Democrats and the media treat their own. As critics ask, Seriously, what does she do all day? It certainly has nothing to do with being a lawmaker, the Fetterman saga underscores a broader reality: in todays Democratic Party, loyalty to the far-left agenda often matters more than showing up for constituents, honoring veterans, or standing with Israel.
