Lindy Li, a former Democratic National Committee fundraiser who broke ranks after the 2024 election, is now warning that the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have become a dangerous and growing force inside an already radicalized Democratic Party.
According to the Gateway Pundit, Li has long argued that Kamala Harriss reckless 2024 campaign spending has poisoned the well with major donors, making another Harris run politically and financially untenable, and she now links that same leadership collapse to the rise of the far-left. As reported by Fox News, Li, who left the party after her concerns over Joe Bidens obvious decline were ignored, contends that the Biden presidency and the broader Democrat leadership vacuum have opened the door for socialist hardliners to seize influence and rack up victories in 2026.
Theyre a metastasizing cancer, Li told Fox News Digital in an interview. She described watching the DSAs ascent from the inside, explaining, I had a birds-eye view from the beginning, you know, [to] the ascent of the DSA power abhors a vacuum. Theyre simply filling a vacuum. Theres no one there.
Li says the DSA has spent years dragging Democrat candidates further left, using ideological litmus tests and pressure tactics that she personally encountered when she attempted a congressional run in 2018. Now preparing to release a book titled Unburdened, she argues that this is just one layer of how socialists have entrenched themselves as a serious power center within the Democratic Party by 2026.
In her own race for Pennsylvanias 5th Congressional District, Li recalls being confronted with a DSA questionnaire that functioned as a de facto loyalty oath to the socialist agenda. These over-educated bums, which populated the DSA thats what they are basically forced me to adopt its platform by handing me a questionnaire and saying, everyone in this congressional race must fill out this questionnaire, Li recalled.
Li admits she felt boxed in at the time, assuming her answers would not follow her, only to discover that the far-left movement was building a lasting infrastructure of control over Democrat candidates. Her experience underscores how the DSA has quietly converted internal party weakness under Biden into an opportunity to institutionalize radical policies that most Americans never voted for.
Notably, Li has also broken with the lefts narrative on President Donald Trump, defending him when he ended temporary protected status for Haitians entering the United States, a move conservatives saw as restoring immigration sanity and enforcing the rule of law. On the DSA, her warning is blunt and unmistakable: if these self-described socialists ever gain real, unrestrained power, America as we know it is over.
