The magazine ranked the radical streamer as #3 on its list of the Top 25 most influential content creators and social-media influencers of 2026, a move that many on the right see as yet another attempt by legacy media to normalize anti-American, hard-left ideology.
Conservatives have not forgotten Rolling Stones glamour-selfie treatment of Tzarnaev, and the new feature on Piker feels like a continuation of that same tone-deaf editorial instinct. The self-declared Marxist, 35, has become notorious for inflammatory criticism of Israel on his daily streams eagerly clipped by both Fox News and MS NOW but also, he says, because he has become the chiseled face of a movement to push the Democratic Party to the left.
Piker openly credits far-left insurgent campaigns for this shift, declaring, If you were to ask me, What was the turning point? It was certainly Zohran Mamdanis mayoral campaign, and claiming that in that race he watched centrists burn their credibility by backing Andrew Cuomo. They started recognizing that there was a real threat [in] these insurgent movements, he says. And they werent wrong.
He reportedly streams upward of seven hours a day, reacting to news, interviewing guests, and interacting with his chat, using his platform to boost the most progressive wing of the Democratic Party. Though hes stumped for AOC and Bernie Sanders, hes recently started campaigning for lesser-known candidates, including Abdul El-Sayed and Melat Kiros, further entrenching his role as a leftist activist rather than a neutral commentator.
For many conservatives, Rolling Stones embrace of Piker triggers flashbacks to its earlier glorification of extremists and confirms that the liberal media establishment has no intention of moderating its ideological crusade. The magazines decision to spotlight a man widely known for hating America only reinforces the perception that elite outlets are more interested in amplifying radical voices than in reflecting the values of everyday Americans who still believe in patriotism, personal responsibility, and the constitutional order defended by leaders like President Donald Trump.
