Jared Moskowitz Says Mamdani Is Making Jewish Families Feel Like Its Pre-War Europe Again

A Democrat in Congress is warning that New Yorks far-left leadership is stoking a climate of antisemitism that Jewish families say feels eerily reminiscent of pre-war Europe.

According to Breitbart, Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) used an appearance on Fox Business Networks Varney & Co. to describe a political environment in which extremist rhetoric is no longer confined to the margins. He argued that the problem is not limited to one party, stating, Well, listen, if were being honest, its a bitter divide [in] the Democratic Party. Its also a bitter divide in the Republican Party, where Dan Bilzerian just ran against Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL), running Nazi commercials.

Moskowitz went on to condemn another recent campaign, saying, James Fishback ran against Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), maybe the most racist, antisemitic campaign Ive ever seen run by anyone running for governor. He warned that the fringes are, all of a sudden, embracing this sort of hatred, and said Jewish Americans are increasingly haunted by historical parallels.

You talk to Jewish families, theyre recapturing and remembering the stories their grandparents told them[about] in Europe, where Jewish businesses were abandoned, people felt that they could go protest outside houses of worship, Moskowitz explained. They felt ostracized, and thats how Jews, right now, are starting to feel in this country.

Host Stuart Varney pressed the Florida Democrat on what responsibility New York Citys leadership bears for the current atmosphere. What do you think about Mayor Mamdani in New York? What should he do? Because we do have a divided city, and I dont think thats very good, and I dont like the atmosphere on the street. What do you think Mamdani should do? Varney asked.

Moskowitz responded with a sharp critique of the left-wing mayors rhetoric and conduct. Look, I think the Mayor talks out of both sides of his mouth, right? It seems like, almost every day now, he has to condemn some antisemitic attack that happened in New York.

The Congressman argued that Mamdanis public posture is fundamentally contradictory and dangerous. But at the same time, right? He is feeding red meat to those antisemites, every day, in New York. And I think hes got to recognize that, as long as hes feeding that red meat, then, every single day, hes going to have to be condemning another antisemitic attack.

For many conservatives, Moskowitzs remarks underscore a broader concern that progressive leaders tolerate or even encourage radical activism that spills over into open hostility toward Jews and other targeted groups. The warning from a Democrat on a major business network highlights a growing recognition that when elected officials pander to extremist sentiment instead of defending equal protection and public order, they risk normalizing the very hatred they later claim to denounce.
