Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas used a recent National Urban League event to deride black voters who dare to break ranks with the Democratic Party and support President Donald Trump.
During a panel discussion, Crockett described a conversation relayed by a young black woman whose father rejected the party line and refused to back former Vice President Kamala Harris, according to Gateway Pundit. The woman told Crockett that her father had said, if I go vote, its going to be for Trump.
Crockett went on to recount the exchange in detail, underscoring her disbelief that a black voter would place his confidence in a Republican candidate. And she asked him, and I asked, I said, did he vote? She was like, I dont know. I dont want to ask. But nevertheless, One of the things that she said was, my dad said he could trust Trump. And I was like, really? And so the reality is that thats not the first time Ive had that conversation, Crockett continued.
Her remarks reflect a broader pattern among Democrats, who routinely express shock when black Americans reject progressive orthodoxy and consider conservative options. Trump has done better with black voters than any Republican in recent history, and thats what this is all about.
Nothing terrifies the Democrat Party more than the prospect of black voters walking away from its decades-long political monopoly. Like other Americans, black voters have seen Democrats bending over backward to represent people who are in the country illegally, while their own communities continue to grapple with crime, failing schools, and economic stagnation under liberal leadership.
