Hunter Biden is insisting he has no political ambitions, even as his media blitz and increasingly aggressive public defense of his father fuel speculation on the left about a future run for office.
According to Fox News, the former presidents son appeared on Barstool Sports Macrodosing podcast, where host Big Tennessee confronted him about his sudden ubiquity in the public square. The host remarked, As I see you making the rounds, it just seems like a guy who might want to run for something. And then I saw you come in the building today. He added that Hunters introductions as he entered the studio were of somebody that wants to run.
Hunter pushed back on the suggestion, insisting he has no plans to seek elected office while leaving the door slightly ajar with a half-joke. Im definitely not running for anything, Biden said, joking that if he secured the Barstool hosts endorsement he might. Those were the introductions of a politician, the host added, underscoring the perception that Hunters recent visibility looks less like rehabilitation and more like a soft launch.
The former presidents son has been on a sustained media tour, appearing on NPRs Newsmakers, California Gov. Gavin Newsoms podcast, Don Lemons program, Ive Had It, and even shows hosted by far-right figures. Newsom, a prominent Democrat with his own national ambitions, teased Hunter during their conversation, suggesting he was a 2028 presidential candidate and claiming the ex-presidents son had a lot of buzz.
On Macrodosing, Hunter also mounted a vigorous defense of his fathers troubled 2024 debate performance, offering a new and dramatic explanation that raises fresh questions about transparency in the previous administration.

He further claimed he had not seen his father like that since, portraying the episode as a one-off tied to serious illness rather than cognitive decline. Shortly before he left office, former President Biden pardoned his son in late 2024 ahead of Hunters sentencing for tax evasion and federal gun charges, a move that conservatives blasted as a glaring example of political privilege and a two-tiered justice system.
Hunter has also turned his fire on key figures from his fathers own team, singling out the Justice Departments leadership as a historic blunder.
